The Bromsgrove Institute Trust provides charitable grants to higher or further education students for a specific project providing they or their parents live in Bromsgrove and to organisations whose proposals meet the object of improving the quality of life for Bromsgrove inhabitants.

It has its origins in the Bromsgrove Literary & Mechanics Institute which amalgamated with the Working Men’s Club in 1870 and then moved to New Road in 1894-5 next to the School of Science and Art.

The Trust is keen to continue the aims of the original Institute from which its funds derive – that is to encourage, in a practical way, adults who have aspirations for personal development through education in its broadest sense.
