The organising committee were extremely grateful for the grant awarded by the Bromsgrove Institute Trust which helped to ensure a wonderful day in Bromsgrove to celebrate 40 years for Bromsgrove’s Town Crier Kevin and to showcase the town as a venue for National events.
25 Town Criers entered the National Championship and travelled from around the UK and from Australia to compete on the High Street and at Avoncroft Museum. Thanks to the funding from the Bromsgrove Institute Trust we were able to promote the event with pre-event flyers, programmes on the day and pull up banners for the side of the stage. Entrants and Judges were also able to benefit from goody bags and printed tea towels, which further promoted Bromsgrove and showcased the competition as a high-quality event.
Funding from the Bromsgrove Institute Trust also enabled the Criers to travel around on a Midland Red Vintage Bus, provided by The Transport Museum in Wythall. We were very keen to use local suppliers and delighted that we were able to support so many local organisations, thanks to the funding received.

We thanked the Bromsgrove Institute Trust through our social media posts and through all press releases.
We were very pleased with the coverage gained both before and after the event, including appearances on local BBC News for both Kevin Ward and the crowned Champion Jeremy Holland from Cinderford.

Jeff Evans was the MC for the event, and he thanked all the sponsors four times in the morning on the High Street and four times in the afternoon at Avoncroft Museum of Building.
In the afternoon he was stood next to the pull up banner which included details of all the sponsors. Pull Up Banner featured BIT as headline sponsor:
We are hugely grateful to all the sponsors who made this fabulous day possible. The event brought many people to Bromsgrove, encouraging visitors to the High Street and to Avoncroft Museum, and we hope contributed to a boost in the economic impact for the shop keepers and local businesses.
In total we raised £7,900 in sponsorship and grant funding. This money was all spent supporting local business, organisations and charities. The event was also supported by Bradley Thomas MP, Chairman of the Council Cllr Sam Evans, Bailiff Mark Robinson along with members of the Bromsgrove Court Leet and ACF Cadets from both Bromsgrove and Rubery.
Thank you for your support!
